Forensic Evaluation

Forensic Evaluations are performed on existing structures and components that are under investigation for structural or material failure. The investigation may include researching the history of what is known about the structure or component and evaluating its current condition through a series of standard testing methods. The investigation process may involve inspections, collecting evidence and measurements, developing models and performing experiments. In many cases remediation is possible and solutions are available; related cost estimates for those solutions can be provided.

Generally the purpose of a Forensic Engineering investigation is to locate the cause or causes of failure with a view to improve the performance or life of a component, ensure the structural integrity of a building and/or to assist a court in determining the facts of an accident. FEF Group can provide experts to ensure the proper remediation of these failures directly for clients or as Expert Witnesses in litigation.
